The Nature Education Centre in Krakow is an extra-faculty unit of the Jagiellonian University located within the III Campus of the Jagiellonian University. The main objective of the Centre is to collect and preserve zoological, geological, anthropological and paleobotany collections, to make these collections available in the implementation of the Jagiellonian University's didactic and scientific programmes, to initiate various forms of activities in the field of nature education and to popularise exact and natural sciences in society. The exhibition part of the Centre, with an area of approximately 2,400 square metres, consists of a permanent main exhibition entitled "Evolution of Earth and Life", within which a number of thematic blocks are presented devoted to, among others, such issues as animal systematics, biogeography, evolutionism, ethology, anthropology, mineralogy, sedimentology, paleontology and geological processes. The permanent part of the exhibition also includes an astronomical block and a reconstruction of a 19th-century natural science cabinet and insectarium. Temporary exhibitions are presented in separate rooms.
Reservations for tours and information about exhibitions from Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 15:00
